Chicago Sky forward Rickea Jackson sustained a torn ACL in her left knee and is out for the rest of the WNBA season, the Sky announced Tuesday.
Jackson sustained the injury during a win over the Minnesota Lynx on Sunday in Minneapolis. She will undergo surgery to repair the injured knee.
“We’re devastated that Rickea suffered this injury, but we are confident she will make a full recovery,” Sky general manager Jeff Pagliocca said. “Rickea was playing at an All-Star and All-Defensive level early in the season.
“We are certain she was primed for a career year. Our world-class medical staff will work hard with Rickea, who is one of the toughest players in the league, to get her back on the court.”
Jackson, who joined the Sky in an April trade from the Los Angeles Sparks, averaged a career-high 18 points, 4.8 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.8 blocks per game through four starts this season.
The three-year veteran, who was the No. 4 overall pick by the Sparks in the 2024 WNBA Draft, averaged 14.7 points, 3.2 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game over 38 appearances in 2025.
She averaged 13.4 points, 3.9 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game over 40 appearances in 2024 en route to All-Rookie honors.
The Sky (3-1) are tied with the New York Liberty for the second-best record in the WNBA, trailing only the Las Vegas Aces (4-1). They will host the Dallas Wings (2-2) at 9 p.m. EDT Wednesday in Chicago.
