Veteran guard Terry Rozier of the Miami Heat and Portland Trail Blazers coach Chauncey Billups were each arrested as part of an FBI probe into illegal gambling.

Sources told ESPN, The Athletic and the South Florida Sun Sentinel about the arrests. The Department of Justice announced that a news conference was planned for Thursday to announce “numerous arrests in illegal sports betting and poker game schemes.”

Billups coached the Blazers during a 118-114 season-opening loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday in Portland, Ore.

Rozier was taken into custody in Orlando, Fla., the where the Heat traveled for a season-opening loss Wednesday to the Orlando Magic. He did not play. The 10-year veteran is on the final year of a 4-year, $96.2 million contract.

U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of New York Joseph Nocella, Jr., will lead the Department of Justice news conference.

The Department of Justice also said FBI Director Kash Patel will be among other federal and state officials who will announce details “stemming from two indictments involving illegal gambling schemes.”
